On a recent trip to visit a friends ranch in San Saba we had the chance to go by Wedding Oak Winery located on East Wallace Street. Open every day, you can visit the tasting room and sample a great variety of wines. Once you find the one you love – you can enjoy a bottle in their tasting lounge. Don’t forget to ask about the Wedding Oak in town – you’ll have to take the short 3 minute drive to see it. If you haven’t been to San Saba it’s worth the short trip from Austin. San Saba is widely know as the Pecan Capital of the World, and each year the city plays host to the San Saba River Pecan Jam — a music festival celebrating Texas food, drink and music. You’ll discover some great shops and restaurants like San Saba Olive Oil Company, Harry’s Sporting Goods (huge selection of boots and hats), Pecan stores, Bar D Brewhouse (try the Mudslide), and more!
